Detailed classification of ceramsite

Ceramsite, as its name implies, is a ceramic particle. Ceramsite is a kind of lightweight aggregate produced by high-temperature calcination in ceramsite rotary kiln. The production process of ceramsite is probably raw material mixing – granulation – Screening – calcination – stacking – transportation. Ceramsite rotary kiln is used for ceramsite production. The preheating section and drying section of this kiln can be controlled separately. Next, Fodamon engineer will explain the classification of ceramsite.

Classification according to raw materials of ceramsite

According to the raw materials of ceramsite, it can be divided into clay ceramsite, fly ash ceramsite, shale ceramsite, sea mud ceramsite, diatomite ceramsite, garbage ceramsite, coal gangue ceramsite, glass ceramsite, biological sludge ceramsite, river bottom mud ceramsite, perlite tailing powder ceramsite and ceramsite.

Classification by strength of ceramsite

According to the strength of ceramsite, it can be divided into high-strength ceramsite and ordinary ceramsite. High strength ceramsite refers to light coarse aggregate for structure with strength grade not less than 25MPa. In addition to the specific indexes of density grade, cylinder pressure strength, strength grade and water absorption, Other indicators (particle gradation, softening coefficient, particle type coefficient, harmful substance content, etc.) are the same as those of ultra-light and ordinary ceramsite. When producing high-strength ceramsite, the output is low, the energy consumption is large, the added value is high, and the sales price is about 50% higher than that of ultra-light ceramsite and ordinary ceramsite. The high-grade and prestressed lightweight aggregate concrete configured with high-strength ceramsite must be homogeneous. Ordinary ceramsite refers to the concrete with strength grade less than 25MPa Lightweight coarse aggregate for structure.

Classification by density of ceramsite

According to the density of ceramsite, it can be divided into general density ceramsite, ultra light density ceramsite and ultra light density ceramsite. General density ceramsite means that the density is greater than 500kg / m ³ Clay grains. Its strength is generally relatively high, and it is mostly used for structural thermal insulation concrete or high-strength concrete. Ultra light density ceramsite generally refers to 300 ~ 500kg / m ³ Clay grains. This kind of ceramsite is generally used for thermal insulation concrete and its products. Ultra light density ceramsite refers to less than 300kg / m ³ Clay grains. Its thermal insulation performance is very excellent, but its strength is poor. It is generally used in the production of ultra light thermal insulation concrete and its products.

Classification by ceramsite shape

According to the shape of ceramsite, it can be divided into gravel ceramsite, spherical ceramsite and cylindrical ceramsite. Crushed stone ceramsite is generally produced from natural ore. firstly, the stones are crushed and roasted, and then screened; It can also be obtained by directly crushing and screening natural and artificial light raw materials, such as pumice, volcanic slag, cinder, natural or calcined coal gangue, etc. Spherical ceramsite is produced by disc granulator. The raw material is ground first, then granulated with water to make a round ball, and then roasted or cured. Cylindrical ceramsite is generally formed by double roll granulator. This kind of ceramsite is suitable for clay materials with high plasticity.

Classification by ceramsite production process

According to the production process of ceramsite, it can be divided into sintered ceramsite, expanded ceramsite and non fired ceramsite. Sintered ceramsite means that there is no volume expansion in the production process, and the density is greater than 500kg / m ³ Clay grains. It has few pores, high density and high strength. It is generally used for structural thermal insulation concrete and its products. Expanded ceramsite refers to the volume expansion in the production process, and the density is less than 500kg / m ³ Clay grains. Its interior has a large number of closed pores, low density and excellent thermal insulation performance. It is mostly used for thermal insulation concrete and its products. Unburned ceramsite is made of a small amount of cement or magnesite as binder, active solid waste as filler, natural curing, steam curing and autoclave curing after granulation, with a density of 500 ~ 1000kg / m ³, It is mainly used for structural thermal insulation concrete, light block and wallboard.

Classification by ceramsite properties

According to the properties of ceramsite, it can be divided into high-performance ceramsite and ordinary performance ceramsite. High performance ceramsite refers to roasted or unburned ceramsite with high strength, low water absorption and low density. The strength of ordinary ceramsite is slightly lower than that of high-performance ceramsite, with slightly higher porosity and water absorption, but its comprehensive performance is still better than that of ordinary aggregate.
