An Overview of Jaw Crushers: Types and Features

A jaw crusher is a type of primary crusher used in mines and ore processing plants. It works by crushing rocks and ore between two jaws, one of which is stationary and the other moving. The moving jaw is pivoted at the top and moves back and forth, while the stationary jaw is fixed.

There are several types of jaw crushers:

Blake jaw crusher: This is the most common type of jaw crusher. It has a fixed jaw and a moving jaw pivoted at the top. The crushing chamber is wider at the top and narrows towards the bottom.

Dodge jaw crusher: Similar to the Blake jaw crusher, the Dodge jaw crusher has a fixed jaw and a moving jaw pivoted at the bottom. The crushing chamber is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top.

Universal jaw crusher: This type of jaw crusher has a fixed jaw and a moving jaw pivoted in an intermediate position. It can crush materials of various hardness levels.

Overhead eccentric jaw crusher: In this type of jaw crusher, the eccentric shaft is located above the jaw and moves the moving jaw back and forth. It is used for coarse and medium crushing of hard and abrasive materials.

Double toggle jaw crusher: In this type of jaw crusher, the moving jaw is pivoted at the bottom and swings in an arc. The toggle plate and the toggle seats are positioned on opposite sides of the pitman. This crusher is used for primary crushing of hard materials.

Jaw crushers are widely used in the mining and construction industries and are known for their high efficiency and reliability.
